The Mafikizolo lead singer officially made her mark in fashion circles when her label NN Vintage showcased its designs at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg this weekend
Named The Evolution Collection, this was a bold statement on Nciza’s part. She clearly believes that it’s high time the fashion world looked to Africa for inspiration.
Destiny connect confirms that local celebs who modelled the garments included actress Jessica Nkosi, actress and presenter Khanyi Mbau, DJ and TV presenter Lerato Kganyago, former model Babalwa Mneno, TV presenter Luthando ‘LootLove’ Shosha, and musician and actress KB Motsilanyane.
“With this collection, we aspire to show the constant rise of Africa as a continent and the pride we have in our culture and how we are able to celebrate culture through fashion,” said Nciza last month when Africa Fashion International (AFI) first announced the Johannesburg Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg line up.
